A complete interior design for a full-service restaurant in Nablus, covering the entire spatial experience from the entrance through the dining room. The design creates an atmosphere that enhances the pleasure of eating together — warm enough to feel welcoming, refined enough to feel like a special occasion every time.
What the Client Needed
- Create an atmosphere that complements the food experience and encourages guests to return
- Achieve comfortable seating capacity while maintaining a sense of space and intimacy per table
- Design a lighting scheme that transitions effectively from lunch through evening service
- Ensure acoustic comfort that allows easy conversation at a normal volume
- Select materials that perform in a restaurant environment while appearing high quality
The Groundwork
Research into enduring restaurant design consistently showed that the spaces guests return to prioritize experience over visual drama. Acoustic comfort, lighting flexibility, and table spacing are cited more frequently than any aesthetic quality as reasons for returning.
The Idea
"The Right Atmosphere" — a restaurant interior that serves the dining experience first. Every decision is tested against the question: does this make the meal better?
What We Faced
- Achieving acoustic comfort in a hard-surfaced, high-capacity space
- Designing lighting that is intimate for dinner but functional for lunch service
- Managing the visual complexity of a large dining room without it feeling institutional
How We Solved It
- Integrated acoustic absorption within decorative ceiling panels and upholstered banquette backs
- Designed a multi-circuit dimmable system with distinct settings for lunch, pre-dinner, and full evening service
- Divided the dining room into defined zones through seating configuration, ceiling changes, and material variation
