Photography Studio
A purpose-built creative space designed to capture perfect light
A complete interior design for a professional photography studio. The project creates a clean, versatile shooting environment that maximises natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows while offering full control through a professional studio lighting rig. Every spatial decision — from the seamless cyclorama to the geometric LED ceiling — serves the quality of the final image.
What the Client Needed
- Design a studio that functions as a fully professional shooting environment
- Maximise natural light from large windows while allowing full blackout when needed
- Create a clean, seamless backdrop wall (cyclorama) for portrait and product shoots
- Integrate studio lighting infrastructure discreetly into the ceiling design
- Provide comfortable client waiting and consultation space within the studio
The Groundwork
Research into professional studio design consistently shows that the most effective spaces separate the functional shooting zone from client and preparation areas without creating visual or acoustic barriers. Light control — the ability to use natural and artificial light independently or together — is the single most critical design factor.
The Idea
"The Perfect Frame" — a studio where every square metre serves the work. Clean, controllable, and designed for the professional who understands that the space is as important as the equipment inside it.
What We Faced
- Designing a space that works equally well for natural light and artificial studio lighting set-ups
- Integrating professional equipment mounting infrastructure without visual disruption
- Creating a seamless backdrop wall that reads as clean in camera at all focal lengths
How We Solved It
- Specified a curved cyclorama that eliminates the floor-wall junction visible in standard studio shots
- Designed a ceiling grid system concealed within the geometric LED installation for mounting studio equipment
- Used north-facing windows with external blinds for full natural light control at every hour of the day
